When the elderly woman driver of this Chrysler Lebaron lost engine power as she went down the road she was unable to stop. This car has power brakes and without the motor running, the brake pedal is hard to press. As she went out of control she slammed head on into a power pole. |
|
The pole was sheared off from the impact and fell across the rural 2 lane roadway closing traffic for hours as well as knocking out power to hundreds of people.

Once again teamwork came into play as Cameron requested the assistance of a wrecker to recover the casualty. We ran cables and snatchblocks from nearby trees to assist in pulling the car away from the pole and into the direction of the roadway where we could load it. |
| If you look close, you can see the car behind the road sign. There were many obstacles to work around here and we had to pull the car around trees, wires, and the downed power pole. | ![]() |

Finally, after rigging and chaining, re-rigging and more chaining we were making some progress. We almost got it where we want it now...... just a little further. |
|
And now we got her! Now Cameron can back right up to it, load it up and
back to the yard with it we go. * Important Note * As with any wires, never assume that they are not live because they are on the ground. Never touch them! Always wait for the professionals before attempting any recovery involving power lines. The life you save may be your own. |
